Help & support
Quick answers about ShareRush. Can't find what you need? Email [email protected].
Getting started
How do I create an account?
Install ShareRush from Google Play, tap Continue with Google, then choose your username. That's it. You get the Free plan straight away.
Is ShareRush free?
Yes. The Free plan lets you send 5 GB every month, and files stay available for 24 hours. Plus and Pro give you more space and longer expiry. See Plans.
Which devices can I use?
The ShareRush app is on Android first, and the iPhone app comes later. Anyone can download a ShareRush link in a browser on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android, without the app.
Sending
How do I send to a username?
On Home, tap Send to username (or the + button). Search for the username or pick someone from Recent, choose your files and send. They get a notification and the files appear in their Inbox.
I can't find someone's username
Check the spelling. The person may also have turned off "Let others find you by username". In that case, send them a link instead.
How do I share a link?
On Home, tap Share via link (or the + button), choose your files and wait for the upload to finish. Then copy the link and send it in any app, like WhatsApp or email. Anyone with the link can download the files until they expire.
How much can I send?
Up to your plan's monthly amount: 5 GB on Free, 100 GB on Plus and 500 GB on Pro. One transfer can hold up to 100 files. Only files you send count. Receiving is free.
It says "Not enough space left"
This transfer would go over your monthly amount. Uploads that are still running count too. You can wait until your amount resets (the date is shown in the message), send fewer files, or upgrade your plan.
What happens if my internet drops?
When the upload stops moving for a few seconds, ShareRush pauses it and tells you. When you're back online, tap Resume and it continues from where it stopped. You can also pause and resume yourself at any time.
Can I use other apps while uploading?
Yes. Uploads keep running in the background, with a progress notification. Some phones stop background apps to save battery. If uploads stop when the screen is off, see Problems.
Can I cancel a transfer?
Yes. Tap Cancel while it's uploading. Nothing is delivered, and the space is free again straight away.
How do I delete something I already sent?
Open Sent, long-press the transfer, then tap Delete. The files are removed for everyone and the link stops working. People who already downloaded keep their copy. The amount you used this month is not given back.
Receiving
Where do I find files sent to me?
New transfers appear in your Inbox (the bell on Home). Open one and tap Download. Downloaded files are saved in your phone's Downloads/ShareRush folder, and the transfer moves to Received.
How do I download a link without the app?
Open the link in any browser. You'll see the files with their sizes and expiry date. Tap Download next to each file, and your browser saves it like any other download.
What does "Verify file" do?
It checks that a file you downloaded in your browser is exactly the original, using its SHA-256 fingerprint. The check runs on your device and nothing is uploaded. The app does this check automatically.
The link says it expired or was removed
Files are deleted when their time runs out (24 hours, 7 days or 14 days, depending on the sender's plan), or when the sender deletes them. After that they can't be recovered.
Downloaded pictures or videos won't open
ShareRush needs permission to open pictures and videos. Open your phone's Settings, then Apps, then ShareRush, then Permissions, and allow Photos and videos (on some phones called Files and media or Storage). Then try again.
Plans & billing
How do I upgrade?
Open Profile, then Plans & pricing, choose Plus or Pro, monthly or yearly, and confirm with Google Play.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Profile, then Subscription & billing, then Cancel subscription. Or in the Play Store: tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
When does a plan change start?
Upgrades (Plus to Pro, or monthly to yearly) start right away, and Google Play adjusts the price. Downgrades (Pro to Plus, or yearly to monthly) start at your next renewal.
I got a new phone. How do I keep my plan?
Sign in with the same account. Your plan is linked to your ShareRush account. If it doesn't show, open Plans & pricing and tap Restore purchases.
When does my monthly amount reset?
Once a month. If you run out of space, the app shows the date your amount resets. Unused amount doesn't carry over to the next month.
How do I get a refund?
Payments go through Google Play, so refunds follow Google Play's refund policy. You can ask Google Play directly, or write to us and we'll help.
Account & privacy
Can I change my username?
Not at the moment. Your username is set when you create your account.
How do I add or remove my profile photo?
Open Profile, then Account details. Tap the camera to choose a photo, or tap Remove photo.
How do I stop people finding me?
Open Profile, then Security, and turn off "Let others find you by username". People can still send you files with a link.
How do I sign out?
Open Profile and tap Sign out.
How do I delete my account?
Open Profile, then Delete account. You can also ask by email without the app. See Delete account. Read how we handle your data in our Privacy Policy.
Problems
I don't get notifications
Open your phone's Settings, then Apps, then ShareRush, then Notifications, and turn them on. On some phones (for example Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo or Vivo), also allow Autostart and set Battery to "No restrictions" for ShareRush.
Uploads or downloads stop when the screen is off
Your phone's battery saver may be stopping ShareRush. In Settings, open Apps, then ShareRush, then Battery, and choose "No restrictions" or "Unrestricted". Then tap Resume.
The transfer is very slow
Speed depends on your internet connection. Try Wi-Fi, move closer to the router, or pause other downloads. You can see the live speed and time left on the transfer screen.
It says "Something went wrong"
Check your internet connection and try again. If it keeps happening, email us what you were doing and the time it happened.
